Life’s Journey, a CARF accredited, comprehensive mental health, substance abuse, and wellness agency offers a variety of services including outpatient therapy, mental health skill building, crisis stabilization, intensive community treatment, medication assisted opioid treatment, coaching services, and a variety of group counseling services. Life’s Journey is currently expanding our outpatient and substance abuse programs and looking for licensed eligible residents to gain valuable experience. Join our amazing team of individuals committed to improving our community while receiving supervision hours needed for Virginia licensure.
Life’s Journey is seeking full-time staff to provide client care by assisting in assessment, individual counseling, group counseling, and family session. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: administering assessments under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor/Licensed Clinical Social Worker, interviewing clients, and drafting reports. Additional opportunities also include professional presentations and community outreach. Applicants must have completed a Masters in Counseling degree, Masters in Social Work degree, or equivalent, display knowledge of psychological or bio-psychosocial assessment and DSM-V diagnoses. Applicants must display strong written and verbal communication skills, have sound problem-solving and analytical skills and be able to work professionally under pressure in a team environment. Multi-tasking, time management, and interpersonal skills are required. Computer skills, writing skills, and flexibility are necessary.
Seeking master level residents seeking supervision hours while working toward licensure. This position provides continued education and professional development under the close supervision of state-approved supervisors. Direct supervision as well as group supervision and didactic trainings in a team environment is provided. No phone calls, please.
